Description

T he government cannot guarantee a bidder will make it on the bidders list if registration is completed using only the web page. DESCRIPTION: THIS PROCUREMENT IS 100% SET ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS. SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING DRAWINGS, WILL BE AVAILABLE ON CD ONLY. There are 3 fish pumps in the erection bay at Lower Granite Dam powerhouse. January and February are the onl y months that the pumps can be out of operation. On-site work will be performed during January and February of 2003. Each pump is powered by an electric motor which drives a right angle drive speed reducer which turns the vertical shaft water pump. Each 4160 volt motor is rated 800 h.p. Pump impellers are 9.5 feet diameter with output of 1,000 cfs. Speed reducers are approximately 8 feet long by 6 feet wide by 5 feet tall and weigh approximately 10 tons. One of the speed reducers is damaged. Modifica tion work to the water supply system consists of removing the damaged speed reducer and its support frame and furnish and install a new speed reducer. A support frame for the new speed reducer is located at the Lower Granite site but it must be taken to a shop to have the lead based paint removed, some minor metalwork repairs performed, painted, and returned to the site and installed. No work needs to be performed on the 3 motors and the 3 pumps. New oil heaters will be installed on all 3 speed reducers. Some new heating/cooling piping for the oil and water systems for the speed reducers will be required. New electrical control systems for the 3 pumps will be required. The estimated cost range for this job is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The Stand ard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 1629 and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 234990. The small business size standard is average annual receipts for the previous three fiscal years must not exceed $27,500,000. Al l responsible small business sources may submit an offer, which may be considered. THE AWARD OF THIS SOLICITATION IS DEPENDENT ON THE AVAILABILITY OF FISCAL YEAR 2002 FUNDING.
