Description

The US Army has a requirement for portable water sampling/analysis. Perform quarterly and weekly portable water sampling and chemical analysis. To be performed at two points on Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. Points will be designated by Environmental Divisi on. Weekly microbiological testing for total Coliforms and fecal Coliforms. Water testing frequency for microbiological parameters may vary due to possible positive water for Coliforms. In the event that the potable water sampling results positive for tot al Coliforms, the sampling shall be repeated at the same sampling point, five service connection points downstream, and five service connections upstream. In the event the sampling exceeds any other safe drinking water act parameter, sampling shall be rep eated. The toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TLCP) testing as required by regulatory agencies to protect the quality of the waters is required. Also analysis only for Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbencene and Xylene (BTEX)is required. Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) testing is required. Contractor will provide all labor, materials and equipment. The chemical parameters are as follows: Chemicals Asbestos Arsenic Barium Cadmium Chlorine Chromium Calcium Copper Cyanide Fluoride Iron Lead Magnesium Manganese Mercury Nitraten-n Selenium Silver Sodium Sulfate Zinc Residual Chlorine Pesticides Lindane Methorychlor Endrin Toxaphene Trihalomethanes Herbicides 2,4-d 2,4,5-tp (Silvex) Contractor must be certified by the Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board (EQB), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Puerto Rico Health Department.
