Description

NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Instrumented 0.012 Scale LGBB Wind Tunnel Model Wing, part number TD20-0172-3, 1 each. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the item from Kulite Semiconductor Products, Inc., One Willow Tree Road, Leonia, NJ 7605, this equipment is necessary to support 2nd Gen RLV. Kulite provides specialized measurement instrumentation which are compatible with similar applications under development at MSFC in the area of turbomachinery. They provide pressure transducers of the required size and accuracy which are unique and actually built and installed in the customer-supplied hardware. Wind tunnel model, with miniture high response pressure transducers, will be tested in MSFC's 14-inch Trisonic Wind Tunnel (TWT) to obtain TSTO stage separation aerodynamic data. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commerical item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 11/02/01. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
