- The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Agricultural Marketing Services Training Center (AMSTI), 1400 Independence Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC, intends to procure single occupancy sleeping rooms and meeting space for their training Sessions; Basics of Supervisory Success I (BOSS I) and New Employee Orientation (NEO). General Information as follows: BASICS FOR SUPERVISORY SUCCESS I (BOSS I) PROGRAM: 1. 4 ? day training program. 2. Number of sessions: 3. 3.Time Frame: Monday through Wednesday; 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Friday: 8:00 am to 12:30 am. No Thursday session held at the hotel however, lodging is necessary for Thursday night. Training will resume at the hotel on Friday morning. 4. Up to 20 sleeping rooms needed. 5. Number of meeting attendees: 20 to 25 per session. 6. Check-in: Sunday; Check -out: Friday. 7. Program Dates: December 3-7, 2002, March 11-15, 2002, June 24-28, 2002. NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION (NEO) TRAINING PROGRAM: 1. 3 ? day training program. 2. Number of sessions: 4. 3. Time Frame: Tuesday and Wednesday; 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Friday: 8:00 am to 12:30 am. No Thursday session held at the hotel however, lodging is necessary for Thursday night. Training will resume at the hotel on Friday morning. 4. Up to 25 sleeping rooms needed. 5. Number of meeting attendees: 25 to 30 per session. 6. Check-in: Monday; Check-out: Friday. 7. Program Dates: February 12-15, 2002, May 14-17, 2002, June 4-7, 2002. The following event specifications for hotels considered must meet the following criteria: HOTEL LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATIONS: 1. Within 4-mile radius of the USDA Headquarters South Building located at 1400 Independence Avenue South West, Washington, DC. 2. Accommodate both meeting and lodging needs in the same establishment. 3. Within Government per diem allowance. 4. Hotel located in safe, well-lighted area. 5. Within 3 ? blocks from a metro rail subway system station. LODGING: 1. Up to 20 single occupancy sleeping rooms for 5 nights. 2. Individual sleeping rooms to be equipped with telephone data ports. 3. Rooms equipped with sprinkler system in each sleeping room. MEETING: 1. Minimum of 600 square feet of meeting space. 2. Ample adjustable room lighting conducive for training environment. 3. Meeting room setup by 7:30 am each morning, except Thursday. No meeting space needed on Thursday. 4. Meeting room shall include exhibit area to accommodate display table, head table, training equipment; TV, VCR, overhead projector, projection screen, LCD projector, and lap top computer. 5. Seating configuration to accommodate up to 25 people in U-shape with an unobstructed view of the designated exhibit area. This configuration must allow for 10 chairs around the perimeter of the room. DINING FACILITIES: 1. Dining facility readily accessible on the hotel premise's and/or available optional dining facilities or accommodations with 3 ? blocks of the hotel. BREAKS: 1. Coffee, tea and decaf provided by 7:30 am each morning with mid morning refresh. 2. Afternoon soft drinks provided by 2:00 pm each day, except on Thursdays and Fridays. EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS: 1. Secure storage of training equipment and materials; up to five medium size carrying cases. 2. AMS Training Institute will be permitted to provide its own A/V equipment, without fee. Equipment includes TV, VCR, overhead projector, projection screen, LCD projector, and lap top computer and one metal stand. ACCESSIBILITY: 1. Compliant with American with Disabilities Act (ADA) providing adequate accommodations for individuals with mobility, sight and hearing disabilities or impairments in the meeting room, rest rooms, sleeping rooms and on site restaurant. Simplified procurment procedures will be used as well as commercial item acquisition regulations per FAR 12. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses which are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-26.
