Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Forecast Systems Laboratory (FSL) has a requirement for direct assist support for Veritas Netbackup software installed on a SUN E3002 server, NDMP and client software that is installed on most computer systems within FSL. This backup system is critical to FSL, as all UNIX, PC and Macintosh systems use this software for routine partial, full, and offsite backups. The software support must provide the following: 1) technical support for both client agents and management, 2) readily available software updates and patches as equipment is added or deleted, 3) phone support to resolve problems, and 4) immediate performance improvement of the backups and restores. In the absence of other qualified sources, it is the intent of the Government to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) with Veritas Software, 350 Ellis Street, Mountain View, CA 94043. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100,000.00). There is no bid package available. This synopsis is issued for information only.
