- Description
- This is NOT an Invitation for Bid (IFB) nor Request for Proposals (RFP). Under PL 98-369 (CICA) this Sources Sought Market Survey is seeking to identify suppliers for Type II, Class II Heater, Assembly Combustion Vehicular Compartment (Heater Assembly), in accordance with Source Control Drawing (SCD) #12474864 and MIL-PRF-62550D (AT), dated May 30, 1997, NSN 2540-01-396-2826. The only approved source for the Heater Assembly, Global Thermoelectric, has stopped manufacturing vehicular heaters. As a result, TACOM now has an urgent need to procure and receive a quantity of 1417 heaters that meet the requirements of SCD #12474864 and MIL-PRF-62550D (AT) in the earliest possible timeframe. In order to become an approved source for the Heater Assembly, offerors must produce and successfully pass the First Article Test requirements specified in Table V, Classification of Inspections, in MIL-PRF-62550D (AT) and the requirements of SCD #12474864. A minimum of three heaters will be needed to conduct the testing. Due to the rather urgent nature of this requirement, interested sources must be able to successfully pass all Table V First Article Test requirements and meet all the requirements of the SCD by July 31, 2002. Any source interested in qualifying shall do so at its own expense; the Government will not fund the required testing. TACOM anticipates soliciting offers from approved sources by 16 August, 2002. In order to be considered eligible for this requirement, interested contractors must contact Mr. David Florka (florkad@tacom.army.mil), Mr. Robert Kovach (kovachr@tacom.army.mil), or Mr. Thomas Godden (goddent@tacom.army.mil) for information concerning the qualification process within 30 calendar days from the date of this synopsis posting.
