Description

This is a synopsis for commercial items as described in FAR 12. The Government anticipates awarding the proposed contract on a Sole Source Basis to FN Manufacturing, 797 Clemson Road, Columbia, SC 29229. The required supplies consist of the M240B Machine Gun which is an air cooled, gas operated, belt fed,7.62mm NATO medium machine gun weighing approximately 27.0 lbs. The M240B may be fired from an integral bipod or from mounted positions. The M240B features an integrated optical rail feed cover to facilitate the mounting of day/night optics, thermal weapon sights and laser aiming devices. The M240B has a rate of fire of 750 rounds per minute, overall length of 48.5" and is extremely reliable. The Government anticipates awarding a quantity of 1,280 EACH of the required weapons. Of this quantity, 430 EACH shall be OPTIONS. Required Delivery shall be 175 EACH by 31DEC01, and the balance shall be due at a rate of 75 EACH per month until fully delivered.
