Description

The Operations Support Command will issue a RFP for a 4 year firm fixed price requirements contract for the full up M314A3 Illumination Round. The estimated quantity for the lst year is 11,220, 2nd year 6,340, 3rd year 6,319, and 4th year 11,416. The M31 4A3 Illuminating Cartirdge is a semi-fixed illumination cartridge, which includes a M14B4 Cartridge Case, M28B2 Percussion Primer, and M67 Propelling Charge. The forged steel projectile contains a pinned base plug, a black powder expelling charge, an illu minant canister with anti-rotational vanes, and a parachute assumbly. The M577 or M762 Fuze may be used with the M314A3 Cartridge. The fuzes will be provided as Government Furnished Material (GFM). Other GFM will include M14B4 Ctg Case, M67 Prop Charge, M28B2 Prim34, M1 SP Propellant, and M1 MP Propellant, but not all items for all years. Anticipated supplies of GFM will be detailed in the RFP. This procurement is unrestricted. The M314A3 was last loaded, assembled and packed (LAP'd) at Longhorn AAP i n 1991. The RFP will include a PreProduction Evaluation contract provision, which will require the successful offeror to conduct a thorough review of the TDP and the item's producibility prior to entering into production. The TDP for this item is Distrib ution X and contains invormation that has been disignated as Militarily Critical Technical Data. Only businesses that have been certified per NOTE #8 are eligible to receive the TDP. Requests must include a certified copy of DD Form 2345. Requests will be held until the RFP is issued, at which time the TDP will be mailed.
