- Kaiser-Hill Company, LLC (Contractor), is the Integrating Management Contractor at DOE's Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site (RFETS) near Denver, Colorado. Kaiser-Hill Company is requesting sources concerning equipment and services available to perform non-intrusive characterization of buried equipment under concrete for the Building 776/777 complex at RFETS. Contractor requests information concerning advanced non-intrusive equipment or tools that can be operated by on site workers or by vendor personnel to conduct characterization that would eliminate some of the unknowns concerning the potential areas were equipment may be buried. The purpose of this work is to identify potential hazards both physical and radiological, which may be encountered during remediation of the buried equipment. The information obtained from this non-intrusive characterization would be used to determine the approach for remediation, including the following:  Determine the location of possible metal and non-metal objects within the entombment.  Verify structural consistency of the entombment (i.e., voids, ect.).  Determine and map radiological constituents within the entombment and surrounding areas.  Provide information to develop the next steps for remediation of the entombments. The suspected areas, which require non-intrusive characterization, are located within the building structure, which will require the equipment or tools to be no larger then 6' w x 6' L x 6' h. The areas include basements and equipment pits which where filled with gravel and capped with three feet of concrete. Voids may be present between the gravel and the concrete. The maximum depth of some of the entombments is thirty feet below the concrete slab. Send information on potential equipment or tools that could assist the Contractor in performing non-intrusive characterization of buried equipment to the following address. Include pictures or drawings, specifications, recommendations on vendor-supplied training or technical support for operation or maintenance, and delivery times. The Contractor may or may not issue a solicitation related to this sources sought for this equipment. Telephone calls will not be accepted.
