- Description
- The Northern Region-Region 1, USDA Forest Service has determined a need for container grown conifer seedlings to reforest sites after wildfire or timber harvest. Seedlings grown under this contract will augment seedlings grown at the Forest Service Nursery in Coeur d?Alene, Idaho, the supplier of most Region 1 container seedlings. This is only the announcement of an upcoming RFP not the solicitation package.***** We intend this contract to be a Firm-Fixed Price Indefinite Quantity Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contract. Each task order awarded under this contract shall use the unit prices proposed by the Contractor for this contract. The Government estimated total minimum award will be 50,000 (50 M) trees. The maximum is estimated at 2,000,000 (2MM) seedlings. Offerors are permitted to offer only on those items that are within the contractor?s capability to grow. Offerors are requested to identify the maximum quantity that they can provide. We are requesting a separate line item for seedling transportation based on cost per mile. Multiple offers will be accepted. Multiple awards may be made. All offers shall be in U.S. currency and in the English language. ********* The Region requests the sowing of all seedlings in the winter or spring of 2002. The estimated deliveries during the summer 2002, fall of 2002, or spring 2003. ********** The evaluation factors for this solicitation are A. Technical Ability and Environmental Capability; B. Past Performance, and C. Price. Factors A&B are relatively equal and substantially more important than price. Award decision will be made on a best value determination using technical and price trade offs. The solicitation package will be available in an estimated 15 days from publication of this announcement and will be available for submission on November 27, 2001 to the address in this announcement with the solicitation number R1-02-03. *************Sources should submit their proposal to Sarah Langston at USDA Forest Service, Northern Region, P.O.
