Description

MARKEY SURVEY -- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. The Navy is issuing this Sources Sought synopsis as part of a market survey. This request is for interested sources that are capable of delivering a product sample to the Government for evaluation pursuant to the issuance of a solicitation. The Government is seeking Night Vision System Helmet Mounts, T-Bracket Helmet Interfaces, and Dovetail Shoe Interface Kits IAW the attached Specification. Specification will be available at http://www.crane.navy.mil/supply/announce.htm on 15 October 2001. Exact Government requirements are not known at this time but it is anticipated that a quantity of not to exceed 430 Helmet Mounts; 430 T-Brackets; and 860 AN/PVS-15-18 Shoe Interface Kits may be required. The solicitation will be issued on a full and open competition basis via SAP procedures under FAR 13.5. The Equipment is considered to be a commercial item. It is anticipated that any solicitation to be issued as a result of Government requirements will be issued on an Unusual and Compelling Urgency Basis and close 7 days after issuance with product samples due upon closing. Units will be delivered F.O.B. Destination. It is anticipated that a firm fixed price contract will be awarded based on best value criteria. Delivery requirements will be ASAP following Contract award or NLT 45 days following Contract Award. It is anticipated that any solicitation resulting from this announcement will be set aside 100% for small business!! Interested vendors are asked to provide any technical data, along with company name, address, phone number, and Company POC to sargent_k@crane.navy.mil by 26OCT2001. Technical or contractual questions shall be addressed via e-mail to Ms. Kelly Sargent at sargent_k@crane.navy.mil. This notice does not constitute an Invitation for Bid (IFB) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it is not a commitment by the U.S. Navy to procure subject equipment. The Government is only seeking information and possible sources for future urgent requirements, if and when they arise. No solicitation document exists at this time. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED.
