- This notice serves as a presolicitation notice/procurement synopsis for technical support of the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM). The US Government intends to award a sole source contract to Raytheon Company to perform follow-on efforts for the technical support of the AMRAAM. The effort consists of providing technical support to AMRAAM production/ integration/operational test and evaluation in various areas as Systems Engineering (e.g., Procuring Contracting Officer-Directed Analyses/Studies); Software Updating [e.g., Common Field-Level Memory Reprogramming Equipment (CFMRE) Operational Software]; Test [e.g., aircraft system program office (SPO)-required AMRAAM-test support (captive flights/AMRAAM captive equipment pods), maintenance and modification of special test assets, support to the USN hardware-in-the-loop]; aircraft integration (e.g., aircraft SPO-required simulation analyses); and Logistics (e.g., non-missile logistics) requirements. This acquisition requires the type knowledge that could only be gained by years of experience in applying skills to the specific AMRAAM missile design. Specific and detailed knowledge and experience is required with AMRAAM missile design, CFMREs, special test assets, US Government simulation facilities and aircraft integration. The project is anticipated to begin February 2002 and yearly thereafter until January 2005. THE DATE FOR RESPONSE TO THIS PRESOLICITATION NOTICE SYNOPSIS IS 29 OCT 2001. The anticipated date of the letter of solicitation is projected to be on or about 29 Oct 2001; date of closing/response is projected to be on or about 28 Nov 2001. The acquisition is contemplated as sole source under authority of FAR 6.302.1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements (10 USC 2304(c)(1)) to Raytheon Company, 1151 E Hermans Rd.
