- Description
- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego (SPAWARSYSCEN-SD) intends to award a sole source award to G2 Software Systems, Inc., of Encinitas, California, under the authority of FAR 6.302 for technical and engineering support services for the Distributed Computing and Collaboration Framework (DCCF) project. The technical objectives of DCCF is the research, development and demonstration of a computing framework that will provide dynamic server synchronization, for collaboration services, across a federated set of computing enclaves (e.g. ship and shore units). A local server within each enclave is used to coordinate the dynamic server synchronization by utilizing a peer-to-peer networking architecture. The synchronization of distributed data will be performed automatically, and will be transparent to the operational user and will follow Navy security policies. Peer to peer load balancing, session/error recovery, enclave (backbone) node discovery, enhanced multi-cast technology and consistent distributed naming are all part of this effort. Expertise and requisite skills in support of Office of Naval Research's DCCF project is required. This includes knowledge of project requirements, software design issues, data content, user procedures, use cases, Tactical Intelligent Information Exploitation and Retrieval Agent (TIIERA) software architecture, program specific cognitive science for peer to peer processing and experience with the core network-centric warfare issue of interoperability among distributed heterogeneous servers. This will be a cost-plus fixed-fee, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity type contract for a period of three years. The North American Industry Classification System code for this effort is 541511 and the small business size standard is $18M. See Note 22.
