- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) requires design, development, fabrication, installation, and testing of a Virginia Class Submarine (VSSN) Integrated Low Pressure Electrolyzer (ILPE) Front Panel Simulator (FPS) trainer. The successfully tested and completed trainer shall be delivered to NAVSUBSCOL, New London, CT. The tactical Virginia ILPE produces oxygen by electrolysis of distilled water. The ILPE FPS trainer will replicate the ILPE unit and provide individual operator training and specific organizational level maintenance, which includes training on troubleshooting procedures/techniques, and mechanical and electrical/electronic fault identification and isolation procedures. The trainer will have realistic functional displays and controls that provide the required training for operators and o-level maintainers. The trainer will provide normal operations, back-up operations, scenario control, and fault insertion capability. The ILPE FPS trainer will also incorporate part task trainers (PTT) to include Collector Bucket Clean Out PTT, Blower Motor Replacement PTT, and Catalyst Bed Replacement PTT. There shall be no GFI/GFE for this effort. Respondents are requested to describe their capability to successfully accomplish this task within 18 months of contract award. The description shall include current access to non-developmental items that will shorten the design and development time required. Respondents should address their plan to acquire tactical ILPE data and demonstrate that the plan is made up of workable and realistic procedures for the acquisition of tactical data. Respondents should include any similar trainers developed and successfully completed in the last 10 years. Include the trainer name; installation location by company/base, city, state, and POC; contract start and end dates; and whether any additional work was received from the same source. This announcement is for market research purposes only. The Government does not intend to pay for information received. Submissions should be made in writing or via e-mail only. Responses to inquiries cannot be made until after 22 October.
