Description

The National Science Foundation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with The University of Maryland, Mid-Atlantic Crossroads (MAX) in College Park, Maryland for subscription and advanced networking services connectivity (including high bandwidth connectivity) to the Internet2 Abilene Network. Abilene is operated by the University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development (UCAID). Services will be provided through September 30, 2002. This notice is issued under the authority of FAR Part 6.302. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
