Description

The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) has a requirement for engineering services to enhance the Low Observable Signature Ejection Technology (LOSET) tube design, develop the counter-mass system, refine fin design, and to refine piston and brake ring design concepts. LOSET propulsion technology has the potential of providing a Fire From Enclosure (FFE) capability for shoulder mounted assault weapons. The work required for this task includes design development and analysis. The required period of performance for this effort is ninety (90)days after contract award. MARCORSYSCOM intends to award a sole source contract to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, 1213 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Virginia. General Dynamics is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the LOSET tube design and as such, is the only contractor qualified and capable to fulfill the Government's requirement within the required delivery period.
