The text is as follows: USEPA's National Risk Management Research Laboratory has a requirement involving updating and revising the publication, Process Design Manual for Land Treatment of Municipal Wastewater, EPA/625/1-81-013, USEPA, Cincinnati, OH, October 1981. The contractor shall update the original design manual with the latest knowledge on design and operation of land treatment systems. The contractor shall provide more coverage of phytoremediation as it applied to soils that can be cleaned up using trees and other plants; phosphorus removal/prediction and testing; nitrogen removal mechanisms for slow rate systems with high C:N wastewaters; results of the SAT research project findings; and current overland flow design practice. The final product shall include discussion of food processing wastewaters and animal wastes.
