- Description
- A MARKET SURVEY is being conducted to determine if there are adequate Section 8(a) firms and/or HUBZone Contractors for this proposed contract for either a Section 8(a) or HUBZone Business competitive set-aside. The proposed contract will be to Design/Buil d a 4,647 sq. meter multi-story building addition to an existing repair facility. The new addition will have reinforced concrete foundation, floor slabs with masonry walls, steel columns as well as metal roof deck with built-up roofing and standing seam me tal roof over entrance area. Interior work includes: Administration area, shipping, receiving, assembly/disassembly, test set up and operation, support shops, clean rooms and various shop utilities such as special electrical power,1,500psi, 2,500psi and 6, 000 psi hydraulic weldless distribution lines, compressed air, vacuum systems and liquid nitrogen piping. Site work includes water, sanitary and storm sewer, new electrical substation with a new 44 KV and 12 KV underground ductbank and new parking lot. T here may be options: for purchase and installation of new test equipment and moving of existing test equipment. The project is planned for advertisement in December 2001 with award scheduled for March 2002. Contract duration is estimated at 480 calendar da ys. NAICS Code is 233310; size standard is $27.5 million. The estimated cost range is more than $10,000,000.00. All interested Section 8(a) and/or HUBZone Businesses should notify this office in writing by mail or fax by October 16 2001, 4:00 p.m., Lou isville time. Responses should include: 1) Identification of company as Section 8(a) or a HUBZone Business, (2) Past Performance information about completed projects of similar size and scope, and (3) Capability of obtaining performance and payment bonds for a project in the dollar amounts listed above. NOTE: If qualified Section 8(a) or HUBZone Business firms do not respond, this planned contract action will be converted to full and open competition.
