- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends negotiate with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, PO Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516, to provide engineering support to assess the fatigue life of the F/A-18 airframe from a current usage perspective in order to determine actions required to achieve fleet inventory requirements. McDonnell Douglas is the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft in its various configurations and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise, facilities, tooling, special test equipment and design/technical data necessary to accomplish the Service Life Assessment effort for the F/A-18 aircraft.
