Description

The Crystal Powerplant is located on the Gunnison River, upstream from the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and approximately 20 miles east of the town of Montrose, Colorado. Crystal Powerplant has one hydroelectric generating unit. The work to be performed under this solicitation includes refurbishing the generator and turbine. The Offeror selected to perform this work may be required to design, manufacture, deliver, and install a new core and/or frame. The Offeror selected shall be required to design, manufacture, deliver, and install a new armature winding. The Offeror selected will need to refurbish the generator rotor, and will need to replace the turbine stationary wear rings, and replace wicket gate bushings. The Offeror selected may be required to disassemble and/or reassemble the existing unit to accomplish the generator and turbine refurbishing. The work will be performed under NAICS Code 234990. The duration of the project is approximately 2 years. The estimated range is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. A site visit is planned for the fall of 2001. This solicitation will be available in hard paper copy only, approximately October 24, 2001. Cost for the solicitation is $50.00 each. Charges for solicitations include regular U.S. postage.
