Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons, United States Penitentiary, Allenwood, PA requires a contractor to provide all design, engineering, labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to upgrade the existing Gem 80, 734 Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and Touch Screens to the GEM 80, 400 series or newer version. This is a brand name or equal requirement that also requires 100% compatibility with existing systems. The new system must be compatible with all PLC's installed or existing. Install and interface communications between head end PLC's (400 series) and remote PLC units (131 model). The solicitation will be available on or about 10/15/01 and will be distributed through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available except in extreme circumstances AND only if issuance in this manner is determined to be in the Government's interest. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Site visit information will be contained in the solicitation. The response date is anticipated to be thirty days after issuance. The performance period is 210 calendar days after notice to proceed. A security investigation/clearance is required. The NAICS code is 421690. This acquisition is unrestricted and open to both large and small business.
