- Description
- This supercedes a previous CBD announcement of Advanced User Equipment (UE) Technology Days dated 11 Sep 01. The Navstar Global Positioning System (GPS) Joint Program Office (JPO), HQ Space & Missile Systems Center (SMC), Los Angeles AFB, is holding a combined industry day for the User Equipment Modernization and Advanced UE Technology programs. The agenda will include an overview of the JPO's vision for M-Code capable GPS User Equipment, program strategy, security architectures, Open Systems Approach (OSA), as well as presentations on the advancements that are being made in antenna, antenna electronics (AE), and receiver technologies. Specific products that increase UE protection from signal interference, both available or in development, will be presented. This will be followed by one-on-one sessions with prospective prime and subcontractors to receive feedback and suggestions on the JPO's strategy and to discuss industry concerns and issues with the planned User Equipment Modernization acquisition. Time for these sessions must be scheduled in advance, no later than 16 Oct 2001. The JPO asks that attendance at the one-on-one sessions be limited to 12 people from the prospective teams. The meetings will be held at The Aerospace Corporation, El Segundo, CA in the basement of Bldg A-8 on 23-25 October 2001 from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Participation is voluntary and is at individual company expense. This meeting is US only FOUO. Please RSVP no later than October 16, 2001 and forward your visit request information to SMC/CZU c/o Barron Grimmett 2420 Vela Way, Suite 1467, Los Angeles AFB CA 90245-4659, or they can be faxed to him at (310) 363-2168. His voice telephone is (310) 363-2745. Please call to confirm receipt. In the RSVP, please indicate whether one-on-one discussions are desired. Additionally, the GPS JPO has created a draft version of an Interface Control Document (ICD) to support next generation, ultra high anti-jam (A/J) capable, GPS UE system configurations. This ICD brings together many of the A/J technologies that are currently in development. All A/J participants will be given access to the following website http://gps.losangeles.af.mil/user/advanced/auet/index.htm that contains this draft ICD as well as an opportunity to supply comments.
