Description
The proposed scope of work for this requirement is to provide for the modernization of approximately 15,000 sq. ft. of the basement of Ariel Rios. This will include demolition, floor leveling, new electrical and mechanical systems, modifications to the fire alarm and security systems, additions to the sprinkler system, new walls, ceilings and all finishes. The intention will be to create a class A office space. Also included in this project will be some tenant fit-out work on the first floor. An approximately 5,000 sq. ft finished space will be modified for a new layout. [Due to noise considerations, the demolition phase shall be done as night work.] Special technical requirements: Asbestos Abatement Procedures, Lead Based Paint Demolition and Disposal Procedures, Metalwork Restoration Competency of Subcontractor, Metal Window Restoration Competency of Subcontractor. These technical qualification requirements must be approved by the Contracting Officer prior to contract award. These approved subcontractors shall become a part of contract award. If, for any reason, after approval of these subcontractors, a substitution becomes necessary, the Government reserves the right to evaluate and approve the technical qualifications of the proposed substitution prior to the proposed substitution commencing work on the project site. The General Services Administration (GSA) will only make the specifications to be issued under this solicitation available electronically. Interested parties may access the solicitation specifications electronically at http://www.eps.gov . This site provides instructions for downloading the documents and files. There will be no bidder's list established for this solicitation. GSA will only provide one single hard copy of the half size drawings to those prospective bidders who submit their request to the Contracting Officer by letter or by e:mail [bonnie.echoles@gsa.gov]. Solicitation Issue Date/Electronic Posting Date is October 18, 2001; Bid Opening Date is November 16, 2001. In accordance with the solicitation requirements, bids shall be submitted by 2:30 PM, EST, to the following address: GSA, ROB, Bid Opening Room -- Room 1065, 7th & D Streets, SW, (WPYB), Washington, DC 20407. Estimated Cost Range: Less than $2.5 million. Time of performance: 180 days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages: $500.00 per day of delay. NAICS: 233320 and the Small Business Size Standard: $27.5 million. This solicitation is not set aside for small business concerns. However, this procurement is being made under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. Women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit bids and so state that they are women owned. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the agency.
