- Description
- Construction of a reinforced concrete Aircraft Parking Apron and Taxiways, including apron/taxiway lighting and marking, drainage, grounding points and A/C was area. Construction of two CMU structures, an admin building and maintenance building, with associated site work, electrical, water, sewer utilities including a wastewater treatment plant, concrete pads & covers for the security vehicles, ground support equipment and HAXMAT storage. Access roads, parking and security fence. Demolition/fill existing sewage Lagoon. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 23499. Rights of entry and real estate for construction sites for the project will be furnished to the Contractor as indicated on the drawings. 1. The following limitations, base access, rights of entry, and authority to execute work on the Comalapa Air Base, El Salvador will not be granted to citizens or companies of the nations of the countries of Guatemala, Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica, Belize, Nicaragua, or Venezuela. 2. For the purposes of this Section, the term "Companies" includes, but is not limited to, corporations incorporated in the named countries, business entities headquartered in the named countries, and/or joint ventures where all joint ventures are incorporated in the named countries. This restriction applies to all prime contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and other entities engaged in the execution of the project. For definitional purposes, the term "companies" includes but is not limited to corporations incorporated in the named countries and business entities headquartered in the named countries. Any joint venture party that is also within the definition of the term "Companies" defined above, is also subject to the limitations contained in paragraph 2 above. Bid documents are available on or about October 18, 2001. Estimated cost of work is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. Unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered. Note No. 1: Plans and specifications will be provided in a printed paper format. Bidders, subcontractors and Dodge/Plan Rooms are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet. Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.sam.usace.army.mil then click on contract bids. Neither telephonic, mailed, nor fax requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the mailing list. Registration must include the firms physical address, telephone, a valid fax number and a point of contact. Registration should be completed one week prior to the issue date. All notifications of changes to this solicitation shall be made through the Internet only. It is therefore the contractors responsibility to check the Internet address listed above daily, for any posted changes to this solicitation. Actual solicitation amendments will be issued either by fax, posting for download to the aforementioned web page, or paper format. Bidders must provide complete physical mailing address for overnight delivery, telephone and fax numbers and point of contact. Telephonic requests will not be accepted. A limited number of plans and specifications will be printed and will be available on a first come-first serve basis, until supplies are exhausted. Reprints will not be made. Note No. 2: All bid forms, bid bonds, and other normal documents required for the bid submittal, including amendments to the bid submittal, shall be in paper medium. Note No. 4: For this job, a small business is defined as having average annual receipts of less than $27,500,000 for the past three years.
