- Description
- The Sevenmile-Goosebery Road project in Fishlake National Forest, Sevier County, UT, is tentatively scheduled for advertising in early 2002. This advance notice is being given as weather and site conditions may prevent viewing at the time of advertising for bids. A project showing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 16, 2001. Representatives from the Federal Highway Administration will conduct a site visit for this project beginning at 10:00 a.m. on October 16. A formal question and answer session will immediately follow the site visit at the Best Western-Shaheen located in Salina. Questions will only be answered during the formal presentation. Minutes will be distributed at the time of advertisement as an appendix to the solicitation. Those planning to attend MUST notify one of the contact persons listed above not later than October 12, 2001. Contractors and potential bidders interested in attending should meet at 10:00 a.m. local time at the I-70 Gooseberry Road Exit (Exit No. 61), 7 miles east of Salina, Utah. There is a pull-out on the South side of I-70, immediately after crossing the cattle guard. Potential bidders are not required to attend the pre-show but are encouraged to do so. Plans and specifications will be available for viewing at the site visit. The Sevenmile-Gooseberry project begins just south of the frontage road of the I-70 Gooseberry Road interchange and continues approximately 21.97 kilometers southerly to the Twin Ponds Road. The project consists of grading, drainage, base, hot asphalt pavement, MSE wall and bridge construction including: lump sum contractor testing; 29.5 hectares clearing/grubbing; 380,000 m3 roadway excavation; 18,000 m3 subexcavation; 13,100 m2 roadway obliteration; 10,800 m3 placed riprap(class 1,2,3,5,&7); 7,530 m riprap ditch(class1&2); 2,280 metric tons special rock embankment, mechanically-placed; 88,000 metric tons aggregate base; 5,000 metric tons aggregate base for roadway maintenance; 6.370 km road reconditioning; 2,500 metric tons asphalt cement; 41,500 metric tons Supervpave asphalt concrete pavement; 7,000 metric tons minor hot asphalt concrete; 870 m3 structural concrete class A for box culvert/wingwalls; 120,900 kg reinforcing steel; 260 m3 concrete; 3,810 m pipe culvert (various); 2,680 m perforated collector pipe (various); 13,310 m3 grannular backfill; 9,260 m asphalt concrete curb; 1,715 m guardrail system (wood posts); 39,200 m3 placing conserved topsoil; erosion control; seeding/mulching; cattleguards/gates and traffic control.
