Description
This is Amendment 1 to the synopsis entitled Copper Cable, PR1151-4040-1 which was posted on 09/27/01. You are notified that the following changes are made: These are the answers to questions presented to the Contracting Officer: 1. Question: Specification: 79K31864, para 3.2 (f) -- On #16 AWG conductor, the DC resistance should be 4.81 ohms/1000 ft. as called out in KSC00031. This is the standard DC resistance on this size wire. Answer: The requirements called out in this specification supercede those listed in KSC00031. 2. Question: Paragraph 3.2 (i) -- On #12 conductor, the DC resistance should be 1.92 ohms/100 ft. as called out in KSC0031. This is the standard DC resistance on this size wire. Answer: The requirements called out in this specification supercede those listed in KSC00031. 3. Question: Paragraph 4.3 (a) -- Rockbestos-Surprenanct has successfully manufactured KSC00031 cables since the inception of the spec. Due to this experience, a pre-production test sample should not be required. A pre-production sample requirement would add sixteen weeks to lead time and increase the cost. Answer: A pre-production sample is still required. 4. Question: Required Delivery -- due to quantity and operations required, we would ask that the required delivery be modified to 120 days. Answer: KSC declines this request. 5. Question: Please calify if Government Source Inspection is required. If so, the required delivery should be change to 140 days. Answer: Government Source Inspection is required. 6. Question: We request that a quantity and lenth tolerance of +/- 10% be included which is the standard for the wire and cable industry. Answer: A length tolerance of +/- 10% is acceptable. 7. Question: As no lengths are stipulated, the quotation will bge based on longest lengths possible, 500' minimums. Answer: A minimum length of 1550' is requested. 8. Question: Contractor would request sign-off approval on their drawing. Answer: Sign off approval will occur only after any contract award is made. The due date for receipt of quotes is not extended.
