Description

This acquisition is for modified commercial Radio Receivers, Equipment Chassis and Installation Kits to replace obsolete and non-procurable parts for the Guardrail Common Sensor 3 and 4 Systems. The NSN's are 5821-01-469-2840 (quantity 88), 5975-01-469-2836 (quantity 40), and 5895-01-469-2839 (quantity 20) respectively. This action is a COSSI Stage I follow-on procurement. A sole source award will be made to BAE Systems Aerospace Electronics Inc., 700 Quince Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source, as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 (b) (1). The Government does not possess technical data (drawings or specifications) defining the form, fit, and function of the item; in addition, the form, fit, and function is not defined by any nationally recognized industry standard or specification. In addition, these are modified commercial items and all data is proprietary to the manufacturer. The contract type will be Firm Fixed Price.
