- Description
- The US Army CECOM, Program Management Night Vision/Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisiton(NV/RSTA) Fort Belvoir, VA and Logistic Readiness Center, Fort Monmouth, NJ is attend to procure Dismounted Battery Boxes on Sole Source basis from Bren-Tronics, Commack, NY. The Army requires Dismount Battery Boxes (DBBs) to support the fielding of the Long Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3). The DBBs are a component part of the LRAS3 and each system is supplied with two. The DBBs hold six standard Army inventory rechargeable batteries (BB 390A/U) that are used to supply 24 VDC power to operate the LRAS3 while in a dismounted mode. The DBB is covered by a performance specification only, which specifies full environmental parameters to include high altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements. First time manufactures must successfully pass a First Article Test on a minimum of three units. There is no TDP available for the DBB. Projected quantities of DBB to be purchased is 2707.
