- Description
- The US Army CECOM Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate is interested in radar mine detection technologies. Our intent, in conjunction with CECOM NVESD, is to develop a countermine test-bed that will support data collection and studies of RF mine detection. This effort will include surface and subsurface mines. Multi-polarization, wide-bandwidth, low frequency radars are of great interest in addition to other wide-bandwidth radars. Algorithms that utilize the returns of conventional microwave frequencies for mine detection are also of interest. It is anticipated that a data collection effort will commence in the summer of FY-02 using currently available assets. Data collected will support phenomenology studies, algorithm development, and testing, and it will ultimately lead to the development of an airborne mine detection system. Interested Companies with available assets, either off-the-shelf or test-bed systems, are requested to provide the following information: POC, address and phone number Radar system description and capabilities Recording devices and their capabilities and data format(s) Available timeframe Cost of a duplicate system. Description of current or past efforts in mine detection using RF -- including an overview of test results Please provide information to: Commander CECOM AMSEL-RD-IW-BA (Paul King) Bldg. 600 Ft. Monmouth NJ 07703 Classified info may be sent to: Commander CECOM AMSEL-RD-IW-OP Bldg. 600 Ft Monmouth NJ 07703 ATTN: Paul King Information is requested by 31 OCT 01. Technical POC for this effort is Paul King, 732-532-2016.
