Description
NAICS 233320 -- THIS IS A FULL AND OPEN PROCUREMENT. Dennis Chavez Federal Building and Courthouse, 500 Gold Avenue SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Project No. INM00103, Solicitation No. GS-07P-01-UFC-5056. Provide all labor and materials required for the construction repair and alterations of this building. Work will be performed in an occupied building which provides office space for various federal agencies. All work performed cannot interfere with Government operations. The estimated cost range of the project is $6,000,000 to $7,500,000. Work includes, but is not limited to, mechanical system upgrades, including air handling and heating system modifications, upgrade restrooms for ADA accessibility, fire stopping and fire dampers at penetrations, electric water coolers, replacement of fire doors, and space improvements for various tenants including lighting, power, fire protection, and fire alarm modifications. Environmental hazardous work to include Lead Paint removal and asbestos abatement of fire proofing and vinyl asbestos tile as required to accomplish the work. There are three (3) options that may or may not be exercised. Option 1 is a plaza renovation. Option 2 is the repair of cracks and joints in the building structure. Option 3 is the renovation of the 12th floor. Time of construction is 360 calendar days. Copies of the solicitation should be available on or about October 11, 2001. The project is being procured using informal source selection procedures which will result in a firm-fixed price award to the offeror which provides the "best value" to the Government with technical ability being more important than price. The Source Selection evaluation factors are listed in the order of importance as follows: Experience and Past Performance of Firm, Experience and Past Performance of Key Personnel, Asbestos Plan, and Management Approach. In accordance with P.L. 95.507, the successful offeror will be required to provide the maximum practicable subcontracting opportunities for small business concerns, small business concerns owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals and woman-owned businesses, to participate in the performance of this contract. A subcontracting plan must be provided with the proposal. Small businesses are not subject to this requirement. This full and open procurement is made under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program and all responsible firms are invited to submit a proposal. This solicitation incorporates documents which are not available electronically.
