Description
This requirement was originally announced on September 10, 2001. The announcement was amended on September 19, 2001, providing for a site visit and extending the closing date to 25 September 2001. This notice provides further revisions to the specifications. NOTE: Offerors must acknowledge receipt of each of these notices, within their offers. The revisions to the CLINs and specifications are as follows. The Regional Contracting Department, Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii has a requirement for the repair and repainting of four boats. The original specifications are deleted and replaced with the following information. The purpose of this requirement is to refurbish 4 patrol boats to seaworthy conditions. Repairs shall be performed in accordance with standard marine practices, including but not limited to the following. For each boat: Tape off the current water line. Make a new water line, where Navy personnel have marked on the boat. Sand down the bottom of boat to accept new black, bottom paint. Sand down the entire hull inside and out and repair all cracks, dings, nicks, etc. When all the sanding and fairing is completed, spray the first of coat primer onto the hull. On the following day, sand the primer and check for all final fairing and sanding. Once all the sanding and fairing is completed, perform all preparation for the final shoot of gray topcoat. Then perform all prep-work for the non-skid to be painted next. Then mask off the boat and shoot the bottom with black paint. All boats shall be equipped with standard running lights. Specific details per boat include; CLIN 0001 -- 19' Patrol Boat (R-2); Install the new rub rail. Install new handrails. Requires trailer for transportation. CLIN 0002 -- 24' Patrol Boat (Monarch); Repairs include the interior and exterior of the cabin house on the boat. Two coats of primer are required on this boat. Allow the appropriate time between coats of primer before the second coat of primer goes on. The boat color will be awl grip medium gray and black bottom. Then polish the diamond deck of the aft deck. Replace windows along with new gasket and replace the cabin interior overhead liner. Requires trailer for transportation. CLIN 0003 -- 19' Patrol Boat (E-1); Install the new rub rail. Install new handrails and crash rail. Requires trailer for transportation. CLIN 0004 -- 26' Patrol Boat; Refurbish and install center counsel and 2 other counsels. Install new rub rail. Refurbish and install handrails, provided by Government. Boat on a Government owned trailer. Performance of these services shall be in accordance of the CLIN numbers. Quotes must be received no later than 26 September 2001, 12:00 p.m., HST.
