- Description
- This notice is hereby amended to change the minimum digization from 500 MHz 8 bit digization to 2 GHz 8 bit digization. This modification also amends the acceleration voltage from 30kV acceleration voltage (or better) to 25kV acceleration voltage ( or better). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. This is a Request for Proposal (RFP); a written solicitation will not be issued. The Food and Drug Administration is soliciting for a State-of-the-art Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization (MALDI) Time-of-flight (ToF) Mass Spectrometer. The system shall include reflectron capability, 30kV acceleration voltage (or better), state-of-the-art extraction field and focusing optics, time lag focusing, ultra stable high voltage power supplies, minimum 2GHz 8 bit digization with 256,000 channel (500 us) 16 bit multi channel analyzer, fully automated vacuum system, Nitrogen and NdYag lasers, MS operating system and data interpretation software, Ion-gate for metastable precursor ion selection, collision cell, post acceleration detector for linear mode applications, greater than or equal to 20,000 resolution in reflectron mode, high mass accuracy needs to be less than 10 PPM using an internal standard with 19 inch or greater monitor, optical bench for installation of the second laser (with electronics) and user training. The instrument?s performance will be evaluated based on comparison of a 1:1 (molar ratio) mixture of bovine insulin (m/z 5k) and cytrochrome C (m/z 12.4k), when the instrument has been tuned to maximum resolution on the cytochrome C peak. The instrument that provides the best High Mass performance as judged based on the ratio of the protonated molecules from the two compounds will be judged to have the best performance for bacterial identification purposes. FOB Destination within 120 days after award of a purchase order. Interested offeror?s shall submit descriptive literature along with their cost quotation. Descriptive literature shall be in sufficient detail as to demonstrate that the system offered meets or exceeds the specifications.
