Description

NAVAIR Lakehurst intends to enter into negotiations with Leica Geosystems Inc. for four (4) 0.5" Motorized Precision Theodolites with Autocollimation P/N TM5100A for the F/A-18 Aircraft. The acquisition is for supplies for which the Government does not own specifications or complete drawings. Leica Geosystems Inc. is the only known source with the knowledge, experience and technical data required to perform this effort. The TM5100A Theodolite comprises of 1 TM5100A Motorized Precision Theodolite with Autocollimation, 1 GEB87 Plug-In Battery, 1 GDF22-I Tribrach with grey optical plummet, 1 GKL22-1 Battery Charger, and 1 AL51 Autocollimation lamp. The TM5100A Theodolite is the only known replacement for the T2 Universal Theodolite. The T2 Universal Theodolite is an obsolete piece of equipment, and the TM5100A Theodolite is the only suitable replacement that meets form, fit, and function of the T2 Universal Theodolite. The Theodolite is used to test the AN/AVQ-28, AN/AVQ-32, and the AN/AVQ-36 head up display (HUD). The Theodolite is used to provide a precision optical reference for testing and adjusting the HUD's azimuth, roll, and elevation reference planes, a capability necessary when boresighting the HUD. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses should reference N68335-02-R-3015. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation package will be available.=20
