- Description
- Shipyard Repairs and Maintenance to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer Snagboat Snell. 1. The Contractor shall furnish docking facilities, plant, labor, material, and equipment to perform work as follows: Blast and paint entire vessel exterior and forward interior voids. Perform large amounts of welding by, removing and replacing corroded metal throughout the vessel, removing and replacing corroded piping, removing and replacing forward deck hatches, fabricate and install new boat davits, and fabricate and install new spud system on the forward main deck and at the transom. Perform mechanical work by replacing vessel's propellers and propeller shafts, repair fuel valves, and rebuild pumps. Perform electrical work by; installing new davit winches, new fuel gages, and waste treatment system. Contract will be in a Construction Format and exempt from the requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act, pursuant to EP 1180-1-1 "Shipbuilding, Alteration, and Repair". The "Ship Check" is scheduled for October 17, 2001, with a make-up date of October 24, 2001. The magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. 2. AVAILIBILITY AND CHARGE: THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS: WILL BE ISSUED ON / OR-ABOUT OCTOBER 4, 2001; WILL BE ISSUED ON A CD-ROM DISK; WILL BE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE; AND SHOULD NOT BE RETURNED. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in a printed-paper hard copy form. Amendments will be made through either a 3.5" Diskette, CD-ROM Disk, or by a printed-paper hard copy. The CD-ROM Disk contains a simple window viewing application and two (2) commercial soft ware applications. All applications contained on the CD-ROM Disk can be run from the CD-ROM Disk. No installation is required. The recommended minimum hardware requirements are (1) 486/66 personal computer; (2) 8 or 16 M RAM; (3) CD-ROM drive; and (4) a Windows driven printer. The recommended minimum software requirement is Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows95, or Windows NT. Standard From 1442, Proposal Documents, Bid Bonds, and other normal documents required for proposal submittal shall be in a paper medium. Electronic medium for proposal submittal IS NOT ALLOWED.
