Description

NASA/LaRC plans to issue a IFB/ Request for Offers for Services and Materials for Repairs to Air Conditioning System, Building 1293C. The work to be performed includes, but is not limited to, the following: Replacement of absorption chiller and cooling tower with air-cooled package chiller Alterations to existing fume hoods to change from an auxiliary system to variable volume restricted bypass system Replacement of central air handlers and makeup air units to accommodate new system Replacement of existing VAV terminal units with new VAV units with reheat coils Installation of new controls system for fume exhaust and HVAC systems Modifications of the exhaust ductwork to accommodate the new fume hood system design Electrical modifications to service the new equipment The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a full and open competition and is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 235110 and $11.5M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about September 28, 2001 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about October 30, 2001. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation, specification, drawings, and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format except the drawings which are in the PDF format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
