Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of FAR Part 13, intends to issue a sole source purchase order to University of Tennessee Center for Clean Products and Clean Technologies (UT CCPCT), 11 Conference Center Building, Knoxville, TN 37996, for the requirement entitled "GM/Saturn Environmental Supply Chain Management Project." The objective of this requirement is to use the national network of GM/Saturn technical assistance centers to implement facilities/supply chain mapping workshops to participating suppliers anywhere in the nation. The workshop, developed by the Saturn/GM Environmental Supply Chain Management Project workgroup, shall identify the environmental impacts caused by external or OEM specifications and make connections between the environmental management practices of the suppliers up and down the supply chain. The final workshop shall be rolled out to all Saturn suppliers as a first step to implementation of environmental supply chain management. A key component of the pilot workshops is to refine, and test facilities/supply chain mapping tools. UT CCPCT is uniquely positioned to preform this requirement based on their initial involvement in Saturn environmental projects since 1987. For this specific requirement, UT has been involved with EPA and Saturn in the initial development of the "Environmental Supply Chain Management Project" since its inception in 1997. The NAICS Code is 541620. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTATION (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. All interested parties must respond within 15 calender days of the date of this announcement. Interested vendors shall provide detailed information outlining their capabilities which clearly meet the requirements stated above. Any response(s) failing to provide the aforementioned data but instead choosing to submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFQ will be ignored. Responses to this posting must be in writing. PHONE CALLS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. See Note 22 of the Commerce Business Daily.
