Description

Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Acquisition & Materiels Management, National Acquisition Center intends to negotiate indefinite delivery/requirements contracts for the distribution of broad product lines of medical/surgical products and related services for delivery to numerous VA facilities located in VISN 11, Augusta, GA, Miami, Fl, Amarillo, TX, Long Beach, Los Angeles and San Diego CA plus facilities from other Federal Government Agencies. Source-selection procedures will be used, and offerors shall be required to submit written technical and price proposals. Awards will be based on overall best value to the Government. Contracts will cover a base year plus 4 one year options. Contractors shall be required to manage, inventory and deliver an extensive line of medical/surgical products to customers within 24 hours after receipt of order; maintain a 95% fill-rate for the base year with a gradual increase in fill-rate by the fourth option year; be EDI capable; have the ability to deliver products in bulk and in low unit of measure; provide various management reports that reflect performance and customer service indicators and provide necessary training. Awards may be made to firms certified under the 8(a) program or to small businesses if offers are received from two or more certified 8(a) or small business concerns, and it is determined offers from these concerns provide the best value to the Government. ALL INTERESTED OFFERORS (SMALL AND LARGE BUSINESS CONCERNS) are encouraged to submit a proposal. It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued on or about October 1, 2001 with a due date 30 days later, with awards planned no later than January 15, 2002.
