Description
Request for proposal for the McLaren Pit Response Action Phase II, Park County, Montana, Custer National Forest. Restoration and water management controls of an open pit mine site at high elevation. Work consists of consolidation of approximately 18,500 m3 outlying waste rock into McLaren Pit, regrading of approximately 3.5 ha waste in the pit, construction of approximately 34,000 m2 geomembrane cover, development and placement of approximately 21,000 m3 drain gravel and 34,000 m3 cover soil, approximately 5.0 ha revegetation of pit and distrubed areas, and miscellaneous drainage controls, channels, geotextile, and erosion control necessary to complete the project. Location of Project: From Cooke City, proceed 0.5 miles east on US 212 to the Daisy Pass Road intersection, then northerly 4.5 miles on Daisy Pass Road to the McLaren Pit site. Prebid meeting location: Meet at the Forest Srvice New World Project office at 10:00 a.m. The office is located in a tan and brown office trailer at the west edge of Cooke City. Proceed West from Cooke City on US 212, take the second road to the right. The office is located about 150 feet from the highway. This will be a pre-advertisement showing of the project area. Estimated Price Range: $1,000,000 and $5,000,000; contract time: 450 calendar days; desired start work: July 1, 2002.
