Description
NOTICE TYPE: This is a potential technology development and licensing opportunity with Bechtel Nevada, the prime operating contractor for the Department of Energy at the Nevada Test Site (NTS). Bechtel Nevada is soliciting written expressions of interest from industry partners to fund collaborative technology development and/or entering into license agreements for developing and commercializing this technology. License terms will include and up-front licensing fee and a running royalty based on a percentage of sales. This is not an opportunity to provide goods or services to Bechtel Nevada or the Department of Energy nor is it a commitment to continue research or license this technology. This solicitation will close to response 45 days after publication. Interested parties should send a description of their company and their ability to commercialize this technology to the following POC: John R. Elliott, Sr. Operations Specialist, Bechtel Nevada, 2621 Losee Rd. M/S NLV038, North Las Vegas, NV 89030. Phone: (702) 295-0256. E-mail should be addressed to elliotjr@doe.nv.gov. A description of the technology follows. ABSTRACT: Bechtel Nevada has a patent pending for an improved method of using fluorescein dye for visualization of fingerprints or other fine detail in dried blood. The advantages of this method are its lack of reliance on caustic solutions, portability and ease of field use, and improved visualization on dark substrates. OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY: NTS is seeking industry partners with the capability of developing the method into a kit form for mass marketing to end-users. Potential licensees may propose either exclusive or non-exclusive license arrangements with each proposal being considered by Bechtel Nevada on its own merits. The license will be subject to the standard provision that the U.S. Government retains the right to royalty free use of the technology.
