- Description
- This is to announce a SHOW-ME TRIP on a mine waste rock removal and repository construction project. RFP 18-02-004 will be issued this winter. The SHOW-ME TRIP is being held prior to issuing the solicitation. This is so potential bidders may view the site before the winter snows set in. The respository involves the removal of another 25,000 cubic yards of borrow to be used for covering the respository and reclaiming the waste rock piles. The respository will also be covered with an assortment of geotexile liners and filter fabrics and will have an interal drain system and collection pond. The waste rock piles contain heavy materials. Personnel engaged in the removal must have 40 hours of Hazmat certifications. Project is located in section 22 and 27 T3S, R3E, SLB&M in Mineral Basin of the North Fork of American Fork Canyon. The site can be accessed by traveling to American Fork Canyon to the intersection of the North and South Fork, 2.5 miles above Timpanogas Cave National Monuments, The site is located approx. 8 miles from the intersection and is accessible from Forest Development Road 085 with the last 1/4 miles along FRD 195. Four-wheel drive, high-clearance vehicles are recommended. Interested bidders are to meet at the Tibble Fork Reservoir parking area in the North Fork of American Canyon on October 17, 2001 at 10 a.m. The site visit will take most of the day. Some walking in steep terrain will be necessary to each work site. Questions may be directed to JO LIPPIRE at (801) 975-3444. This procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
