The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to solicit a quotation, on a sole source basis, from Academic Press, 525 B Street, San Diego, CA 92101 for electronic license to IDEAL JOURNALS and electronic access to backfiles (1993 -- 2000) Titles are Analytical Biochemistry, Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Bailiere?s Best Practice & research: Clinical Rheumatalogy, Biochemical and Biophysical Research Comm.,Biologicals, British Journal of Cancer, Cell Biology International, Computers and Biomedical Research, Ecotoxicology & Environ Safety, Gynecological Oncology, Journal of Emergency Nursing, Journal of Enviroeconomics & Mgmt, Journal of Hospital Infection, Journal of Infection, Medical Hypotheses, Methods: A Companion to Methods in Enzymology, Microbial Pathogenesis, Molecular Cell Biology Research Communication, Molecular Phylogenetics & Evolution, Molecular & Cellular Probes, Nitric Oxide, Plasmid, Preventive Medicine, Regulatory Toxicology & Pharmacology, Respiratory Medicine, Social Science Research, Toxicological Sciences, Toxicology & Applied Pharmacology, Tubercle & Lung Disease, Virology, Genomics, Molecular Genetics & Metabolism, & Seminars in Immnology, effective from 09/26/2001 through 12/31/2002. Included are web based compatibility, access to archival copies and the generation of regular usage statistics, and the ability to browse the "table of contents" of these journals.This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Simplified Acquisition procedures will be utilized and an oral quotation will be solicited on or about 09/26/2001.Other than full and open competition is authorized pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). Qualified vendors have 15 days from the date of this synopsis to submit capability statements delineating their ability to provide this on-line access license and backfiles. Such qualifications will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a full and open competition basis. No solicitation exists.
