Description

The Federal Detention Center(FDC), Houston, Texas intends to procure on sole source basis from Siemens Building Technologies, maintenanace to our buildings environmental system under the authority of FAR 13.501. This includes full maintenance service, repairs and upgrades on our Siemens Building Controls and Smoke Control Systems. It is anticipated that the award of the requirement shall be on or about October 1, 2001. Award through competition would require substantial changes to the buildings'control systems at a cost that the Government would not recover through competition. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence, that competition would be advantageous to the Government. In doing so, interested sources must submit detailed technical capabilities, pricing and any other information which demonstrates their ability to meet the FDC's needs. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the contract will be awarded without further notice. Anticipated contract performed period: 10/01/01 through 09/20/02.
