- Description
- SOLE SOURCE REQUIREMENT for SAFETY ENGINEERING, SAFETY SUPPORT and OWNER ADVOCACY SERVICES for the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland at Various Locations. It is the intent of the National Institutes of Health to award a sole source contract to Council Rock Consulting, Inc., 5105 Rae Court NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 for Safety Engineering, Safety Support and Owner Advocacy Services. The types of services required but not limited to include: Maximum and High Containment Laboratory Certification and Support; Industrial Hygiene Services; Microbiological Assessments; Disease and Injury Control; Industrial Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Risk Communication-consultation and training; Communications and Public Relations; Hazardous Materials Abatement; Waste Management and Minimization Strategies; Indoor Air Quality Studies; Safety and Health Training; Audits; Integrated Pest Management Services; JCAHO Compliance; Statement of Conditions for JCAHO Accreditation; Construction-Owner's Advocate Services; Biosafety Services and Consultations; Safety Management Consulting. Through various interagency agreements, Council Rock Consulting, Inc. has been working at the NIH, providing Safety Engineering, Safety Support and Owner Advocacy Services. The contractor, Council Rock Consulting, Inc., has been providing engineering support to the NIH maximum containment laboratory (MCL) (Biosafety 4) (BL-4). The contractor has intimate knowledge of the NIH MCL containment systems and mechanical systems, which are unique to this facility. The contractor also provides certification and support engineering services for the NIH MCL, and certification services to the Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) Biosafety 3 laboratories and animal facilities. The contractor has unique knowledge of the containment and mechanical systems associated with the RML BL-3 site. The proposed contract to Council Rock Consulting, Inc., will commence on or about November 1, 2001. See Note 22.
