Description

The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center (SSC) located in Natick, MA 01760 intends to award a purchase order to Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), 2540 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43210-0012 on a basis of other than full and open competition (refe rence Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 6.302-1) for a 1,335 quantity SciFinder task package anticipated to be used throughout a one (1) year period. Scientists and other technical researchers of the Natick SSC have found SciFinder to be an invaluabl e tool in looking up and researching various types of scientific articles, topics, journals, etc. CAS is the only organization that has the authority to grant a license for use of the SciFinder scientific internet browser and they have proprietary rights to it. No quotation document is available for this acquisition.
