Description

The United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) intends to issue to Dow Jones Interactive Publishing, a sole source purchase order to purchase the renewal of Dow Vision Basic Service via News Edge Interactive Publishing for Dow Vision Basic Service news tool. The Dow Vision service, which is provided to the USPTO through Dow Jones Interactive Publishing is a remote, third party database that consists of periodicals and news sources. The Dow Jones agreement gives the USPTO access to "real time" news wire services and "pre-publication" periodicals. The period of performance is through September 30, 2002. This acquisition is being conducted under guidance of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures and subpart 6.302.1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. No solicitation document exists and no responses are anticipated.
