- Description
- ISSUE DATE: 09/25/01. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary to Install New Floating Dock at USCG Station Fire Island, Babylon, NY (Suffolk County). Work includes installing four guide piles and one concrete floating dock, one gangway from the existing concrete wharf to the new floating dock, a buried telephone conduit, an aluminum shore tie stanchion, an electrical shore tie, two water service piping lines and incidental related work. For purposes of determining small business size standards, the applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 234990 with a size standard of $27.5 million. Estimated cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 09/25/01. The bid opening date is scheduled for 10/25/01 at 2:00 pm. This solicitation is issued in accordance with the Small Business Competition Demonstration Program and is unrestricted. Our office no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
