Description

The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, National Institutes of Health, is soliciting proposals to continue development of new methods of electrically stimulating the auditory system to improve the information transfer in auditory prostheses. Although this research will be limited to animal studies, the workscope requires plans for the application of the results to humans. This acquisition represents a competitive renewal of contract number N01-DC-9-2107, with the University of Iowa. A four-year, cost-reimbursement type contract is anticipated, with an award made on or about September 30, 2002. The solicitation is scheduled to be issued on or about September 27, 2001. Proposals will be due sixty days after the date of issuance of the solicitation. THE SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLY ON THE INTERNET AT http://ocm.od.nih.gov/drc/rfp.htm.
