- The Government intends to issue a Sole Source under the authority of FAR 3.501(a)(ii) to NAC Image Technology a small business located at 2245 First Street, Unit 108, Simi Valley CA 93065 for two Digital High Speed Camcorders, Memrecam Ci/RX-2 to be delive red to BUILDING 2-1728 ROOM 230 ARMISTEAD & WOODRUFF STREET, FORT BRAGG, NC, 28307-5000. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information incl uded in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Solicitation serves as the Request for Quotation. This solicitation is a small business set aside with SIC 5043. Provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offers-Commercial and FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items apply to this acquisition. Price will be used to evaluate the offers. The offerors need to include a completed c opy of the provisions at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items with this offer (registered in the Central Contractor Registration, DUNS number, Cage Code, and Tax ID number). The statement at 52.212-5, Contract Terms an d Conditions required to implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. Offers are due COB 24 Sep 2001. The government requires that the Digital High Spee d Camcorder have internal memory to store 65 seconds of video at 100 pictures per second (pps) not utilizing portable computers, tape drives, or jazz type storage medium. The Camcorder head must be less than 3/4 inch in diameter and less than 2 3/4 inches long and weigh less than 15 pounds to be mounted in storage unit. The camcorder must have a remote connection cable of 10 meters to connect to the storage unit. The camcorder head and storage unit must be capable of withstanding 100 high-G environment d uring operation. The camcorder must record and play back in color. The camcorder must have memory backup to prevent loss of pictures during power failures and must operate on 28 VDC power. The camcorder must record at selectable frame rates of 100,250, and 500 pps minimum. The video output for playback must be National Television System Committee. (NTSC). The camcorder must be easily detachable to permit rapid in-field replacement. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respon d to the requirement or submit proposals. The Government will consider all proposals received prior to the closing date. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely withi n the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.*****
