Description

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is seeking to pre-qualify sources capable of providing a Pallet Transporter and Positioner. The pallet and positioner should be designed for quick, easy and stable transport between work stations and transport equipment so that palletized materials are easily accessible with minimum bending. The unit shall be self-contained with complete with pre-wired controls. The pallet transporter and positioner shall be mounted on wheels with an on board rechargeable battery. The battery shall energize a direct current motor and hydraulic pump combination, which shall provide power for all lift or position operations. The forks shall be constructed to support a 2500 pound (total) load at the end of the fork or as a side load without buckling or having permanent deformation. The unit shall be ready upon for operation upon delivery. Suppliers that have similar machines that can be adapted to perform the functions of the Pallet Transport and Positioner are encouraged to submit their company name, address, contact person and telephone number, for receipt of a possible future pre-qualification package and subsequent solicitation. If no commercial machines are available in the marketplace, the USPS may pursue a research and development effort. As part of their response, interested parties may submit as examples, descriptions and specifications of their standard products whose capabilities parallel the foregoing requirements.
