Description

This announcement is not for the purpose of acquisition. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey, seeks potential sources for Weight Board Tape. Potential sources are required to possess the capability to manufacture "Tape, Translucent, A/C Weight Confirmation Unit" in accordance with Government Drawing No. 512268 Rev D. The tape is designed for catapult launch access. The tape is to be flat flexible instrument tape capable of being reeved and driven on rollers to display characters printed on its surface. The tape material is to be clear mylar; it shall also be tough, durable, abrasion and stretch resistant, and suitable for flexing. The tape shall have characters in accordance with MIL-M-18012 CL A, TY I and the tape shall be numbered in accordance with the applicable Government Drawing. Properties of the finished tape shall include: 1) 50 pounds minimum tensile strength in longitudinal direction, 2) 0.3 pounds minimum tear strength in longitudinal direction (Elmendorf Test), 3) -60 to 290 F temperature range, 4) waterproof and resistant to all solvents except low molecular weight alcohols, 5) compatible with pure gum soft rubber rollers, and 6) fungus and mildew resistant. Interested parties must contact the Contract Specialist for a copy of the Government Drawing. The Government Drawing contains data subject to export control laws. Therefore, any firm seeking the Government Drawing must be registered with the Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS) and must possess a DD Form 2345.
